2020 Artist-in-Residence

Nicole Nagel-Gogolak

Meet this summer’s artist-in-residence at Creighton Farms, Nicole Nagel-Gogolak! Hailing from Nevada, where she lives with her teenage children, Nicole loves to hike, ski, and venture to remote places. She is a talented artist, educator, and illustrator with a BFA in Painting from The University of Michigan, and an MFA in Fiber from Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Nicole has transformed The White House near the 4th tee into an art studio and has been creating a number of beautiful sculptures of repurposed local timber decorated with encaustic and resin. Nicole’s art embodies a collaboration between the artist and nature that visibly represents the merging cultural richness, sacred traditions, and weathered patterns she observes in her travels.

Creighton Farms is proud to support an artist with such a commitment to sustainability and highlighting the beauty in nature. Nicole was really able to showcase the stunning pieces of local timber, with her art mirroring the richness of culture and significance to the local Piedmont Region.
