The crowning feature of The Club at Creighton Farms is the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which has been recognized as one of the premier private courses on the Eastern Seaboard—rated 9th in Virginia by Golfweek and 10th on Golf Digest’s Best in State rankings. Home to the Creighton Farms Invitational Hosted by Jack Nicklaus, it’s one of the D.C. area’s most coveted tee times. The Nicklaus Signature Design takes advantage of the property’s stunning naturally rolling terrain and challenges members with its variety, focusing on strategic thinking and precision rather than power, and creating a memorable experience whatever the skill level of the player. The course has received Aubudon Sanctuary Certification for environmental preservation.

In addition to the course itself, the club offers extensive practice facilities in the form of a double-ended practice range, a dedicated short-game practice area, practice putting greens, and The Stable, our state-of-the-art teaching and golf learning center. The Stable features Trackman Simulation software, two indoor/outdoor all-season hitting bays, a dedicated club fitting bay, indoor putting, club fitting studio, SportsBoxAI, and more. In addition to the top-tier facilities, the club enjoys excellent instructional opportunities led by PGA Teaching Professional Erika Larkin who is one of the Top 50 Teachers in America by Golf Digest in 2023. Erika has also been recognized as the #1 teaching professional in Virginia for ten years running, along with being named a Top 100 Teacher by Golf.com.

The shop also provides personalized club fitting services, allowing golfers to optimize their gear for peak performance. In 2023, it was recognized as one of the 100 premier golf shops in the world by The Association of Golf Merchandisers.
Home Of The Creighton Farms Invitational
Started in 2012, the Creighton Farms Invitational, hosted by Jack Nicklaus, is one of a handful of elite tournaments created by Mr. and Mrs. Nicklaus to benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. It has raised nearly $12 million for the Foundation and other children’s healthcare charities.
A Calendar of Member Events
More than just a place for casual play, The Club keeps up the spirit of competition by hosting popular club tournaments, including member-member and member-guest. One of the highlights at the Club and across our portfolio is the Southworth Cup—where we welcome teams from our sister properties Willowbend, Creighton Farms, and Renaissance to the Abaco Club for a 36-Holes Stableford point match. This is an amazing event where members from other Southworth communities can meet up for camaraderie and bragging rights.
